I'm a really bad blogger :-'(

Hi there! So I could go on and on about how busy I have been (I really have been!) but let's just get right to the crafting!

I just got done with a 12 birthday card

/12 thank you card swap, hosted by my friend Mel from Scrapbooks N Smiles.

For the birthday cards I went with some SEI paper that I snagged at the CFAC yard sale last year. I used my CM shapemakers to cut 4 different sized stars and a Martha Stewart border bunch on the bottom. Then I used some of my CTMH stamps and topped my cupcake with some Sunshine Stickles. Nothing extraordinary, but subtle and cute I think.

For the thank you cards, I used a CTMH paper pack and flowers. I didn't have 12 of the same sized flowers so I did 3 different groups. I dyed the top flowers to match my theme, and attached a large dew drop in the middle. Again, these are kind of simple, but black and white is always elegant I think.

I've been working on some other things too, and I have to go back and add pics to my last blog (from last year - lmao!)

I'm making a mid-year resolution right now to try really hard to be a better blogger :-D

Hi, remember me?

So, I'm not dead. In fact, I have actually been super busy. Earlier this month I got to go the annual Crop For a Cure with my bff, where I made several pages for my daughter's Brownie's album. I even found the time to make a whole box of cheaty* Lisa Bearnson x-mas cards, some cheaty* CKU everyday cards, a cheaty* CKU album and help the kids with some cheaty* CKU cards and picture frames. (Pics to follow in next post...)

*For those of you who are not crafters: (definition) cheaty = pre-cut/arranged kits where you basically just have follow directions and paste it all together.

But let me tell you my most exciting news of all - my super fantastic husband got me a Gypsy for an early birthday present! The fact that my best friend's husband got her one for her birthday and I wouldn't shut up about it may have had something to do with it, but I digress.

CKC and Inspiration

Yesterday my best bud (and fellow scrap/shop-a-holic) and I went to our very first Creating Keepsakes Convention. For those of you who are not crafters or scrap bookers, it is like a mecca or utopia for us...lol. There were so many vendors there with lots of new and unique products, interesting classes, tons of people, etc. Even some "celebrities" within the crafting world.

We did a cool make and take at The Stencil Collection booth with sisters Corrie and Katie Risting, as I gushed about having seen them on a t.v. show. I was going to ask for a picture or autograph, but I'm pretty sure my friend would have either died of embarrassment or left me there alone :-) Here's the project:



We stamped an image on tile with Staz-On and heat set it, colored the image in with pastels, then applied a colored glaze. The glittery stuff is called glamour glitz, and the fuzzy stuff around the edges is called moon dust. I think its imperfection makes it look kind of retro.

Then today, my daughter and I worked on a few projects with my some of my newly acquired goodies. We made her some dainty little butterfly earrings by sewing headpins onto the backs of these nylon butterflies. To make them dangle I coiled the tops and added jumprings to fasten to the hooks. Then I finished them off with a dab of hot glue on the backs to keep the headpin from twisting.




Finally, we worked on the cover for a really cool Brownie's scrapbook. Boxer Scrapbooks was selling these Jumbo Shirt Chipboard Albums that you can dress up a variety of different ways. They had various cover kits to go with them, including all of the scout levels. I might be modge podging it later, to seal it and help keep it protected. I will add more pics as we work on the inside.

This is my first post!

So here I am, finally in the blog world. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing, yet, but I want to use this space to share my thoughts, scrapbooking and jewelry creations.
